Apple Pie Smoothie
For the last four years, I’ve been almost religious about drinking a smoothie every morning for breakfast. It’s an easy way to get a ton of nutrients and kick-off those digestive juices in a good way. While it is a huge accomplishment to make a smoothie every morning, I definitely started getting lazy in what I was putting in my smoothies, and I heard myself say “a little more fruit won’t hurt” and even started swapping out the chia seeds because it was such a pain to clean the blender post smoothie. In trying to reset my body and being more mindful about what I’m consuming, I quickly realized that my daily green smoothie wasn’t really making the cut. Sure, it was a healthy mix of fruits and veggies, but I needed to do more for body to kick start my metabolism and keep it fulfilled until lunch time. Enter one of my new go to smoothie recipes – this apple pie smoothie is chock full of protein, fiber and a whole lot of flavor! It is so tasty you almost feel like it’s a dessert, not an easy and healthy breakfast option.
