About Me!

My name is Lauren and I am a 20 something living in the big city trying to tackle the daunting task of teaching myself to cook. The one thing college didn’t prepared me for was learning how to feed myself. Living in the sorority house, it was the norm to wake up and go to class, eat three meals a day and not think about how much time and preparation went into each and every meal. After graduation, I “graduated” to an almost solely lean cuisine diet. I know it sounds bad, but less than 5 minutes of microwaving is pretty attractive compared to an hour or more of prep work and cooking, not to mention washing dishes!

As 2013 rolled in, I decided to make a change, gone hopefully are my lean cuisine ways in favor of a more healthy and fulfilling homemade diet. It is my goal to compile 52 recipes within the year, one a week. These recipes will range from healthy meals to set and forget crockpot recipes and even those cheat day sweets. Thanks for taking a look and joining me on my food journey- here’s to 52 delicious meals in 2013!

2013 has come and gone– I achieved my goal of 52 recipes and then some! Thank you so much to everyone who has viewed, pinned, and attempted the recipes I’ve shared. Over the course of the past year, I’ve come to understand the importance of eating healthy and well balanced meals. Not only does it make you feel good, but it let’s you feel a heck of a lot less guilty about eating that cupcake or cookie at the end of the day!
